Will a Personal Trainer Burn Your Waist Fat?
|
|
Personal Trainers are currently very popular and you can pick one up (in a manner of speaking) at a reasonable cost if you look around.
But money is pretty tight everywhere at the moment. Is money spent on a personal trainer to attack your waist fat money well spent?
Will a personal trainer get rid of love handles for you?
Of course most of them can, but will they?
The value of a personal trainer depends on who you chose and how they work with you.
What to look for in a personal trainer
- Someone who looks the part.
No matter how nice they are, no matter how cheap their rate, run like crazy from any personal trainer who is not in great shape. No one who is flabby or unfit should be paid to tell you how to ditch your ab fat.
A reputable personal trainer is someone who knows and practices healthy diet and regular exercise. Open your eyes and believe what you see. Listen to what they say with a critical ear. Don’t settle for mediocre or you will be disappointed and out of pocket.
- A person who pushes you.
You have to have a bit of a love/hate relationship with a good personal trainer if you are going to get rid of love handles and keep that waist fat off forever. A trainer who leans against a piece of gym equipment and chats to you about the footy/weekend/beach is not doing what they have been paid by you to do.
You need someone who will push you to do more than you want to do, without exhausting you. They should be talking to you about training and diet, not where they are going for lunch.
- Someone with experience and knowledge.
Ask questions to feel them out. Your legitimate personal trainer will be able to answer your questions without hesitation.
From “What foods are more calorie dense?” to “How does a wide grip on this machine change the results from a narrow grip?” your personal trainer must be able to give you answers that make sense and that you can understand.
I say all this because last week at the gym, I watched Neil (his real name) the pretend personal trainer tutor an unsuspecting bloke in using the gym equipment.
- Firstly, Neil was late for this obviously first appointment with the man who had paid him to do a job. I’ve watched Neil before. He’s often late. It’s not good enough.
- Secondly, Neil is hardly a gym rat, judging by his chicken legs, bloated face and flabby ab fat.
- Thirdly, Neil whizzed this poor confused guy around the equipment “explaining” each piece to him without encouraging the man to try to use anything. A question on correct grip was greeted with “hold it however you want to”
With a “We’ll get into it next week. See ya Tuesd’y” Neil was finished his profitable but pointless session with his naive and trusting target.
Neil is typical of a “personal trainer” who is a waste of time and money. No interest in his client, his job or his own health and fitness. He’s just making money.
A good personal trainer will get you results on your ab fat and is money well spent.
The results will not be miraculous, but they will be steady. Your true personal trainer will teach you how to change your habits to embrace a fit and healthy lifestyle that you can maintain forever.
In the same gym as Neil, a bloke called Andy operates as a personal trainer. Andy is fit and well muscled. He lives the fitness lifestyle. He is enthusiastic. He pushes his clients “Come on, don’t stop now, you’ve got 10 more to do” and he gets results.
Not everyone works well with a personal trainer, but most people appreciate and benefit from their guidance.
If you are a novice and need information as well as motivation, a good personal trainer will be a great asset for you to get rid of love handles.
Even 1 or 2 start up sessions with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic trainer will get you on the right road for success. Then if you want to go it alone, you have been shown the right way to go about it for your particular body type.
If you need someone to get you moving and to push you, personal trainers like Andy will get you the results you are after.
If you see Neil, the only thing I’d be asking him is get out of the way so you can use the machine he’s leaning on.
