I came across this article today and though it was (I’m hoping) pretty much tongue in cheek, it really accurately sums up why people can’t get rid of love handles even though they seem to want to very very much.

To lose waist fat, you really need to take responsibility for your life and stop making the kinds of excuses this 57 year old male journalist is making.

He doesn’t want to change his eating habits to drop ab fat, he isn’t interested in self help, he won’t join a support group … and yet he keeps right on whingeing while dreaming about his next hot pizza and cold beer.

This guy, Nat Harwell, of Newton County makes 2 dangerous statements against how to get rid of love handles that need to be identified as the crazy but sadly popular myths that stop good people from losing bad fat.

1. At 57 it took Nat a long time to put his fat on, he says he doesn’t have the time left to take it off again! Too right! With that attitude, he’s going to get chronically sick sooner rather than later and die well before his time because he is failing to take care of his precious body.

2. Nat feels the general public “could do more to help me with my situation”. Oh Really? LIke what? Feel sorry for him? Go jogging on his behalf? Eat half his pizza? Feeling good about youself has to come from within, not from other people. Nat is looking for love in all the wrong places.

Read Nat’s article here and decide for yourself whether you agree with him or me. (Hint: if you agree with him, it’s going to be a tough ask to get rid of love handles anytime soon).
